Tribute to Barbara Evans

Martinborough Community and First Church in particular has been saddened by the recent death of a faithful member, well loved  Barbara Evans. A moving service was held on Monday 28th July, the Rev. Dr Jim Veitch officiating. Over 200 people gathered from far and wide to celebrate her life and share her story with her family.”

Martinborough Netball Club (MNC)

The team is competing in the Premier 2 grade Wairarapa Netball Competition this season in Masterton and are currently leading the top of the grade and with the business end coming up we plan to keep it that way. The team has lost only one game (in the grading round) since the netball season began in early May.

There have been some great games throughout the competition, with a mix of experience and some newer players in the team, intense at times but exciting for the players. … Continue Reading

Junior netball grant

Martinborough School have been successful in their application for an ANZ Netball Grant, winning a gear grant consisting of balls, bibs, gear bag and inflation equipment.

Creating a Community Hub

The proposed Community Centre project aims to unite many of Martinborough’s essential services, so what will the new centre look like?

At the heart of the development will be the strengthened and upgraded Town Hall, including a new foyer area, meeting rooms, a warm and inviting new supper room and kitchen area and improved auditorium space.

The i-SITE Visitor Centre will be positioned at the entrance of the new Community Centre complex. This purpose built visitor centre will showcase the Wairarapa and provide locals and visitors with a booking service for travel product throughout New Zealand. … Continue Reading
