A great week weather-wise and a fabulous day for the Grumpy’s with Bill Jones being the eventual winner on the day who is still playing under his age of 80.

The 9 holers have played their last qualifying round for the Howie Cup and the final will be played this week.
The 18 holers played a medal round and the winner was Sherry Weatherstone with a nett 72. Jenny Wilkie, Adele Cairns and Felicity Warren all finished with nett 73’s. Felicity, Sherry and Jude Gould all managed twos.

Numbers were great for Thursday Club who played in ideal conditions. The winner was local celebrity Trevor Hawkins with 44 points. Runner up was Malcolm Wood with 43 points, Bill Jones and Bill Crook both had 41 points. Mariana McDermott had 40 points. Nick Allen, Sandra Petersen, Dean Schaef and Alison Sim all finished with 39 points. John Errington, Greg Dalton and Dave Rowberry had rounds they would rather forget.

Saturday was the worst day for golf ever but still ten keen members turned up to play but only four managed to finish so unfortunately no scores.

Coming up this weekend is round 3 of the Martin Fourball on Saturday and on Sunday is the club’s annual Ngahau Trophy and Grandma, Grandpa and Family/Friends tournament. Entries are still being taken.
