Two classes at Martinborough School have extra warm feet this winter, thanks to volunteer knitters from the Organisation of Presbyterian Women, who have turned out 50 highly individual pairs of slippers for the children and one pair each for their teachers.

The idea came through the Presbyterian Church magazine and the school was contacted to find out if any of the classes would be interested. It is 50 years since the Organisation of Presbyterian Women was formed, and knitting 50 pairs of slippers was a very practical way of celebrating and giving to the community at the same time.

Rooms 2 and 8 replied that they would love a class set of slippers and volunteers set about creating gorgeous and practical woolly footwarmers using an array of different colours and patterns. No two pairs are the same, so there can be no mixups and misunderstandings!
