From the Mayor

Laughter is the best medicine according to old time wisdom.  If this is true then anyone who was fortunate enough to attend Mark Hadlow’s MAMIL should be very well indeed.

It had to be one of the funniest shows even seen.  Mark’s endless talent for mimicry and his seamless ability to move from one character to another made for world class entertainment.  How great that this show was in Martinborough and performed by a resident no less.  It’s amazing just who is tucked away in South Wairarapa.

A big thank you must go to Mark who boosted the Town Hall fund by $7500 by donating the proceeds from his opening Gala Evening.  He joins the list of extremely generous locals who have supported this fantastic project by putting their hands in their pockets.  Christmas spirit certainly started early in Martinborough.

Speaking of Christmas, I’d like to take the opportunity of wishing everyone all the best for the festive season.  We live in a great place and I hope summer delivers something for everyone – enough rain for the farmers and enough sun for the grapes.
