It’s nearly here – Christmas is just around the corner, it comes around so quickly.  We have a wonderful array of fun things happening these holidays.

Our Summer Reading Programme for the children kicks off on the 8th December and runs until 23rd January.  Don’t worry if you are going away as you can still check in by email, Facebook or telephone.  Loads of prizes to earn and a party to end with – all for reading books.  What can you lose!

We are also running a couple of Christmas crafty sessions after school, so look out for those.  A certain man in red will be visiting our last Book Babies session on the 9th December.

The most fun, however, will be found on Christmas Eve morning, from 9.30 to 12.30 when we will be dressing up and eating shortbread and cake.  Come and stock up on your holiday reading in your festive gear and earn a free DVD hire.
This year the library will be closed from 12.30 on the 24th December through the Christmas period and will reopen at 9.30 on Monday 5th January.  This reflects the closure hours of the Council.   However, do not despair, we will be issuing for a longer period  and you can take as many books as you need.

Here’s a few ideas for some holiday reading; The Meryl Streep movie club, Mateship with birds, Anjelica Huston’s autobiography, Postcards from Cedar Key – a lovely easy read as is the new series How to knit a heart back home.  5 or 6 new hunting books are on the shelves and masses of new children’s books.

Stock up early and in bulk and you will get through until 5th January when you come and see our smiley faces again.  Happy Christmas everyone.
