Library-newsCoffee, shoes, books – we need all of these before opening the library door in the morning.  I suppose the books are the most important as we are a library but the other two rate rather highly as well.  As I write this I am yearning for a coffee but Mike is waiting for this article as the deadline is 5 minutes away  (sigh).

So, for you avid readers, please do look at our Staff Favourites display table as you enter the library.  These books are loved by at least one of our librarians and it is a great opportunity for you to extend your reading experience into unknown territory and perhaps find new favourite authors yourself.  To encourage you we are not charging a rental fee for any book on the table.

If you do like FREEBIES then please check out our Facebook page.  If you ‘Like’ what you see then let us know and you will receive a FREE DVD hire.  If you weren’t aware we have DVDs then hop in and check out the vast range for adults and children that have recently been added to the library.

We have a new display behind the library desk (instead of shoes!).  It showcases the playground competition entries for the community centre.  These include the winners and a small number of the inspired and imaginative pictures the children created.  We really do have some very talented children.  Please come and see them before they head off for display elsewhere.

New books – Janet says ‘every second book has midwife in the title’.  I think that is a slight exaggeration but we do have quite a lot of new non-fiction.  Don’t worry we also have some really, really good novels too.   In a moment of inspiration Janet and Jen have just come up with a new idea.  This will get you hunting the shelves!  FREEBIE alert – if the book has your name in either the title or author then you get it issued for free.  We call it ‘Name-alikes’.  See you soon.

Hours for Easter – closed Friday 3 April and Monday 6 April, Open Saturday 4 April.
Hours for ANZAC weekend – Closed Saturday 25 April and Monday 27 April.
