Hi All
Daylight savings is sadly over, the nights are getting darker & colder and this can only mean one thing…. time to get out of that armchair and hit the bright lights of Martinborough Squash Courts!
Yes, we have a jam packed season awaiting you with all the usual culprits: Junior Club Night/Coaching, Ladies Night, Interclub, Business House, Senior Club Nights, not to mention our fantastic Open Tournament and Club Champs.
For any ladies keen to start playing, or those who want to get back in to it, we have Ladies Night on Mondays from 6pm. Just come along or email Jackie on: jackie.joe@xtra.co.nz to be put in to a draw against someone of similar ability.
Our ever popular Business House Competition kicks off on Thursday 31st May running for 5 weeks, and then our Senior Club Night will resume. Anyone is most welcome to come along to Club Night for a hit and to find out more about becoming a member or you can call Gus Mcleod: (06) 3068070 to be put in to the draw against someone of similar ability.
On the Junior Squash front we have coaching on Mondays starting 3:30pm and Junior Club Night every Friday from 4pm. This is our busiest night of the week and it’s a great social evening for kids and parents alike, so bring the kids along for a hit and join in on all the fun. The Wairarapa Junior Head J-Grade series kicks off at Red Star on 10th June also and will be played at Martinborough on 15th July.
Don’t forget our Martinborough Open Tournament is scheduled for 24th – 25th August. It’s a great opportunity to play people from all over, build up your grading points and watch some top class A Grade squash.
Casual players also are most welcome, rates are $5 per player per half hour and key tags for entry to the club can be hired from the BP Martinborough Automotive on Kitchener St.
Also a big thank you to all who purchased tickets to our mouthwatering Chocolate Easter Raffle. The lucky winner was John Bath of Martinborough, whom I’m sure will be very popular with his Grandchildren, but not with their parents!!!
Well, hopefully that’s enough to whet your appetite and you’re chomping at the bit to get down for a hit! For any further information or contact details regarding squash you can check out our website: www.martinboroughsquash.co.nz or contact Trinity Shaw on (06) 3068914.
Happy Squashing!
