Pony Club’s multi successes

April 11, 2017 April 2017 No Comments

Pony-club-multi-successes South Wairarapa Pony Club member Lucy Marshall teamed up with Emma Jones from the Wellington Pony Club to compete in the Mounted Games Pairs competition at the Horse Of The Year Show held at Hastings. Competing in the under twelve years category over four days; two days of round robin racing followed by the third day semi final and then on the fourth the final. They won the Final in a very close finish to become the New Zealand champions.

Pony Club riders, Molly Cardno and Jeremy Thurston were recently awarded their B Certificate in Equestrian Riding & Horse Management.
This highly acclaimed award is not easy to achieve, involving two examinations and requiring significant study. Examiners are brought in from out of the region and Technical Delegates work during the examining process to ensure compliance with the strict examination criteria.
Riders frequently sit the two part examinations separately, however Jeremy & Molly have been working towards this Certificate over the last twelve months and achieved both sections concurrently.

These results now mean that Wairarapa has more B Certificate endorsed riders than ever before in the region. A wonderful testament to coaches Ginni Thurston and Rae McIntyre who invest a great deal of time into preparing students for their examinations.
