A Lemon Ball for Feathy?

September 10, 2024 September 2024 No Comments

From A Correspondent

Dearest Gentle Reader,

It has come to my attention that planning is under way for a Ball at Featherston’s beloved Anzac Hall.

Early indications are that Lady Featherston herself is hosting the event and that she has chosen the spring theme of lemons. Daring, certainly.

For this Ball, formal or fancy is definitely in order. One can only imagine that the Lemon Ball will be awash with cravats, silks and taffetas in gorgeous yellows, the sharp fragrance and flavours of lemons, and for some _ the playful nature and irony of being a “lemon.”

Dance bands who play everyone’s favourite party songs, or bangers as they are known in some circles, have already been contacted.

We also are happy to hear that the hall’s historic Supper Club will feature a continuous supper, no doubt awash in lemon-themed delicacies.

Rumour has it that the date has been set for Saturday, the 19th of October.

As all good things that happen in Featherston, this event will be supported by volunteers and funds raised will support some of your favourite charities, including the lovely Featherston Community Centre and youth sport clubs.

One can only hope that tickets are soon available, as this is sure to be the event of the season!

Yours truly
