Aziel Verner Fundraiser at The Cabbage Tree Vineyard – Sunday 24 May.

June 18, 2015 June 2015 No Comments

Ian Cresswell was delighted that the fundraising concert he arranged for promising young violinist, Aziel Verner, was such a success. Ian has been a champion of Aziel Verner since he first heard him play in the Martinborough Town Hall as a member of the Wellington Youth Orchestra; he was only eleven. The concert raised $1000 for Aziel’s studies.

Now 18, Aziel treated the audience to a varied programme. All pieces showcased the potential of this aspiring young violinist, in particular, Schubert’s Violin Sonata No 1. The accompanist was Aziel’s equally talented older brother, Asaph. Aziel leaves for Sydney on 31 May for a month’s tuition with his former music teacher before he begins his studies at the Singapore School of Music in July.
