Bowling Club season opens

Bowling-Club-season-opens The weather gods’ were against us recently as the club conducted the 2015 opening afternoon .Not to be dissuaded over 50 staunch patrons converged on the Regent  Street  clubhouse for the occasion .

Club President Pedro McGillicuddy  was lavish in his praise for those that  made the effort to attend and outlined the clubs 2015 intentions .A lavish high tea and liquid refreshments was enjoyed by all with indoor bowels and a darts tournament conducted .
Club Patron , Mr Barney Reede , was on hand to declare the 2015 season officially open to thunderous applause.

Mr McGillicuddy stressed the importance of club unity and strongly urged  the members to continue their unending support of ” The great game of lawn bowls ” .

2014 championship badges were presented to the recipients and accolades heaped upon the award winners. The club will be conducting their annual twilight bowls tournament again. This is run , in conjunction with local business houses , and player nominated teams .

Bowls Wairarapa is holding an open fours tournament on Sat 17 and Sun 18 October. It is a $3,000 event open to any gender and entries can be lodged at the tournament secretary PO box 107 Masterton 5840 or , on line , www.bowlswairarappa.com. This great event is generously sponsored by Jennian Homes  and bowlers are asked for their support .

As a final note , people are advised that there are plenty of bowlers available to show you the basics of this great game . Just turn up at the club or contact me on 0220763880 for more information.
