A look behind the safety fence
The Waihinga Centre building work is going well and we took a peek behind the fence at progress.
A Generous Donation
When Susan Stephen found herself with a brand new safety trampoline that she didn’t need she decided to give it to the Fundraising Committee of the Waihinga Centre, to help raise money for Stage 2 of the development – the playground and park. The trampoline was raffled and raised over $600.
Susan’s generous gift has helped the community in more ways than one. Most importantly it’s raised a useful sum of money to go towards work on the new playground for all children to enjoy. It’s also going to put a smile on the faces of the lucky children who get to use it at home.
The trampoline’s new owner? It’s Kim Hayes from Greytown, who bought the winning ticket at the Te Kairanga Farmers’ Market. Foley Family Wines approached the fundraising team last year to donate proceeds generated from the Te Kairanga Market to the project, they also generously made a stall available to the Waihinga Centre fundraising team. … Continue Reading
