Past and present, with our dreaming, join to make us what we are:
Ancient wisdom, ancient follies have shaped the way we love and care:
Give us reverence and wisdom, from the past – for life today.
We are mindful of the present – every force, each strength or flaw
Free us from those selfish motives which can consume us more and more
Give us the vision and the courage – for this modern age of change

Viv NapierAs a long standing councillor, and Deputy Mayor for the past the 12 years, I have built a thorough understanding of how the Council functions within our community along with the scope of the Mayoral role.

Over the years I have been a member on most of our Council committees and working parties, along with the Greytown Community Board. Skyline Challenge a successThe 2016 Skyline Challenge has again been hailed a success, with the Anzac weekend event attracting more people than ever before. We saw a 28% increase in numbers from last year – 219 participants in all.

The weather for the 2016 Skyline Challenge started out cold but soon warmed up, helped with the strenuous activities of our participants mountainbiking or walking over the course, appreciating the stunning views of Martinborough and lower South Wairarapa. … Continue Reading

Whilst we were pleased to be able to help financially, on behalf of the Martinborough Ward, it is clear that many volunteer hours and donations of materials contributed to the transformation. The Shed will be a great asset to our community and I commend the members on the effort they have put into it. … Continue Reading

By Karen Stephens A record field of 172 players, including 43 professionals from New Zealand and Australia, battled light winds, warm temperatures and even light early-morning fog at Martinborough golf’s 2024 CER Electrical and Holmes Construction pro-am on February 1. At least that was the range of excuses for some …
