Ā Mua Community Resource Centre accepts a wide range of reusable items and materials (see below) that might otherwise end up in landfill. These items are then on-sold in our Re Use It! Shop in Featherston with profits being returned to the community through Featherston’s Own Charitable Trust. Droplets that accumulate on the ends of leaves offer more than hydration for insects. A new study has found that they are a nutrient rich source of food for insects. A study by New Brunswick university found that insects which consumed these plant-guttation droplets had a much higher survival rate.

Parkinson’s Wairarapa established the ‘Parkinson’s Songsters’ in 2017 in conjunction with a Speech and Language Therapist.
It is a therapeutic community singing group that aims to help anyone who has Parkinson’s or neurological issues that have affected their speech, co-ordination, communication, posture.
