Jane kellahan invited to exhibit

June 12, 2014 June 2014 Comments Off on Jane kellahan invited to exhibit

Martinborough artist Jane Kellahan has been invited to exhibit at the London Art Biennale in January next year. As Kellahan’s work ‘The Water that Fell’, gained third place in the Leonardo Prize at the Biennale of Chianciano, Italy in 2011, she believes she has a good chance of doing well.

Curator of the Biennale of Chianciano Peter Gagliardi, said her prize piece was: ‘‘An excellent and breathtaking painting. The composition is soft whilst the light captured is strong and powerful. This painting is definitely a museum piece; a stimulating work that provokes contemplation’’.

120 artists will exhibit their works from 40 nations. As Kellahan was a prize winner in Italy, she is exempt from the tough selection process and is automatically eligible. To represent New Zealand she needs to urgently fund raise $5,000 for entry fee and transportation.
The London Art Biennale is being held on January 20-25, 2015 at the Chelsea Old Town Hall on the King’s Road in Chelsea, London.

To see more of Jane’s work check out www.janekellahan.co.nz or to know more about Jane, her interesting crowd funding video at:
