Back in 1991 the Resource Management Act was passed by Parliament.  It was a significant piece of legislation that repealed 78 statutes and regulations to provide a single piece of legislation for the management of land, water, soil and air throughout New Zealand.

At the time it was deemed to be ground breaking and soundly welcomed by many, as the Town and Country Planning Act it replaced was not providing the planning framework the country needed and was in urgent need of review.

After meeting in Greytown, we set off in 3 cars to a farm up Admirals Hill Road, Gladstone. The skies were very overcast, and once at our destination, the cold southerly wind made us put on all our layers, plus woolly hats and gloves.

We followed a track to the top point on the farm, at 568m, with transmitter aerials. The 360 degree views out to Lake Wairarapa and the South Island would have been magnificent had they not been hidden by clouds! We ate morning tea sheltering in the lea of a concrete shed. … Continue Reading

Soprano Jenny Wollerman will pair up with Pianist Emma Sayers on Sunday 27 June, with a selection of their favourite Spanish/Catalan and Aotearoa NZ works.
