Phillip Percy and his wife Sarah came to live permanently in Martinborough in 2006, deciding “Over the Hill” with its blue skies and sunshine was the best place to call home.

An Honours Degree in Resource Management and Environmental Planning from Massey University paved the way for a position with the Wellington Regional Council in the late 1990’s after working for a land development company on the Kāpiti Coast.  

“That first job, where I learned so much but had little influence over the outcomes, helped me realise where my priorities and values lay”, says Phil.  “Contributing to sand dunes being bulldozed and wetlands being drained did not fit my comfort levels. Training nights are back again and it’s great again to see new faces! Training nights are Wednesdays at theFeatherston gym. . Under ten years from 5.30 and over ten years from 6.30 .

North Island Championships are being held in Katikati on 27 June and attendance is encouraged.  This is a great opportunity for our wrestlers to put the skills they learn to the test.  Registrations are required for this tournament ASAP.  Please see one of the team to register.  If there is a financial challenge please look at www.robertalgietrust.org.nz for support and let Dannii know if you need a hand with this. … Continue Reading

Junior squash is once again very popular here at the Martinborough Squash Club for the 2021 season.

We hold coaching sessions for junior players on Mondays from 3.15 – 5.30 pm. On Friday evenings we host a junior club night where each junior plays at least one squash match and we have food and drinks available. 

Some of our junior players are becoming very competitive and enjoy playing tournaments both in the region and beyond which they can attend to improve their skill and rankings. … Continue Reading
