The Wairarapa is in for a musical extravaganza on Friday June 17 when 19 year old pianist, Otis Prescott Mason comes to the ANZAC Hall in Featherston, as part of the season of Mulled Wine Concerts Series in Featherston
          Otis is a Wellington-born pianist and a classical performance student at Victoria University of Wellington’s NZ School of Music studying under Dr. Jian Liu and has been since 2018. He was recently awarded first prize and several special prizes at the Lewis Eady National Piano Competition, New Zealand’s national piano competition.  In 2020, while still in high school, Otis was awarded first prize at the New Zealand Junior Piano Competition.  … Continue Reading

The Wairarapa Youth Orchestra held their first concert at the end of last year, at Kurunui College. 48 students took part. Strings, percussion, woodwind, and brass players from 15 different schools throughout the Wairarapa joined in harmony for a spirited event featuring the Irish Washerwoman, Hine e Hine, Jungle Bells and Fix You.
