Martinborough Community Patrol (MBCP) are now the proud owners of an Electric
Nissan Leaf.
The time had come to retire the old car, a Honda CRV, Claire Fleming, Coordinator of the Patrol, said.
“We wanted to on-sell it while it still had some value. The car had been a dedicated patrol car and was kindly paid for through community grants, local trusts and community sponsorship.”
Community Patrol NZ is closely aligned with New Zealand police. Each local patrol is tailored to the unique needs of its community, strategically patrolling where and when it best supports both local police and the community.

Currently, SWDC is not able to accept any new connections to the central wastewater system for Martinborough. This obviously puts the brakes on development.
This situation is not expected to be resolved for several years.
Planning for a solution to this, and to the multiple other water infrastructure projects urgently requiring to be resolved in our region, is now with a project called “Local Water Done Well.”
A dedicated team from the four Wairarapa District Councils including Tararua are working together to design an organisation to manage our combined urban water, sewerage and stormwater as a stand-alone entity with councils as shareholders.
It seems as though this is a better approach that the previous one which has lead us down some very expensive blind alleys. The fix on the ground, however. will be some time away. … Continue Reading
On Saturday 21 September we held our Community Emergency Hub Open Day – what a great turnout, over 80 people came along to discover how the Hub could operate in the event of an emergency.
This was a collaboration between the Martinborough Community Board, SWDC and WREMO (Wellington Region Emergency Management Office). The Community Emergency Hub is run for the community by the community – a place to gather to seek and to offer help.
