SOUTH WAIRARAPA TRAMPING CLUB

June 18, 2015 June 2015, Sports Comments Off on SOUTH WAIRARAPA TRAMPING CLUB

Our last three trips have been a little like a set of traffic lights. The Red (stop) trip was cancelled due to bad weather, and the Orange trip to Winzenburg Hill didn’t quite actually get there , although it got close and the intention is to repeat that trip in the future now the party knows where they went wrong.
The Green trip was all GO, with perfect weather, great views over a satiny smooth Wellington Harbour, and evidence of an obviously successful trapping session on Possums in the last few days. … Continue Reading

Martinborougnh Rugby Club_webOur JAB teams have begun their season, full of energy and enthusiasm. The Under 11 & Under 13 teams have each had their first games under lights at Memorial Park, this was pretty exciting for them, and great for the parents who didn’t have a pile of muddy clothes to deal with.

A huge thanks to all the parents, grandparents and caregivers that give up a chunk of their weekends to transport our kids around. We don’t have many home games but when we do they would love the support so come on down and show your support for our future Senior players. … Continue Reading

Golf Club News

The Club has hosted a number of significant events in the last couple of months. Firstly, in March, the Wellington District Women’s 36 Hole Stroke Play Championship was held at Martinborough. Women’s Golf in the Wellington region has a good future if watching these teenagers is anything to go by. Julianne Alvarez, an 18 yr old from Manor Park playing off a +3, won the Miss M Young Trophy with a Gross 142, one over in the morning round and 5 under in the afternoon. … Continue Reading
