Two down and one to go, we are on the home straight with the season of Winter and for the first time in many years the dams and tanks are fill and the water tables have well and truly reached above the ground. you guessed, we’re ready for Spring!

The Course has been under going some serious aeration and top dressing, the upside is the grass will grow, the weeds will be scarce and we should see a marked improvement on the fairways in the next few months. The new Tuesday 6-aside format seems to be working well, with a huge number of teams from all over the Wairarapa participating. There are so many teams that it took over a month for the grading games to be completed! We have the Rockets playing in the Blue grade the Micros and the Magic both playing in the Yellow grade. These teams train on Monday lunchtimes at school under the careful guidance of Liz Larkin, Kiely Marshall and Kerry Campbell. The kids’ enthusiasm to get their stick on the ball is just fantastic – like bees to a honey pot! … Continue Reading

Golf-Clb-news-photoThe wet weather has been a godsend even though there has been a lapse in actually playing the game. The greens have benefited the most by far and the recovery process is ahead of schedule. The bonus too that no one has had to lose sleep over the water allocation consent.
There is a bit of activity going on behind the 1st Tee to the side of the practise nets. A practise green is taking shape complete with a green side bunker.
We are blessed with a number of members who are keen to roll up their sleeves and do stuff around the course; most do not have the slightest bit of interest in being on a committee. We very much value and appreciate all you do for the Club. … Continue Reading
