Celebrating the British and Irish Lions Tour in Martinborough

May 9, 2017 May 2017 No Comments

Celebrating-the-British-and-Irish-lions-tourThe Martinborough Business Community is going all out to welcome travelling rugby fans to Martinborough this winter. With thousands of international rugby fans expected to descend on Wellington for the Lions v All Blacks Test on the 1st July, we are looking forward to tempting them over the hill to enjoy all that Martinborough and the Wairarapa have to offer.

The Reds, Whites and Brews Festival will run from Tuesday 27th June to Tuesday 4th July with over thirty participating businesses including accommodation, activities, restaurants, cellar doors and retail.
You can expect to see Kitchener Street and participating businesses decked out in bunting, with locals wearing Reds, Whites and Brews rugby shirts. Enjoy local menus matched with Reds, Whites and regional Craft Beer.
The Martinborough Rugby Club will also be opening the bar after training sessions to welcome visiting fans and provide a real heartland rugby experience. Some of the current players have helped the festival organisers out with a photo shoot, which will be great promotion for the Club and the Festival.
