Come September…Friday, 17 – Sunday, 19 Martinborough Music Festival.

March 10, 2021 March 2021 No Comments

Come September was the title of a film made in the early 1960s. Composed by pop star, Bobby Darin, Come September was also the name of the film’s theme song. Orchestrated by Billy Vaughan, Come September became instantly recognisable and one of the enduring instrumental compositions of the day.

This coming September, the Martinborough Music Festival (MMF) Artistic Director, Vicki Jones, ably assisted by Wilma Smith, will present a programme of four concerts from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon covering early chamber music through to recent compositions which will excite our audiences. There is a blend of the instantly recognisable and some less familiar. All are accessible and like the film score, will endure in the memories of those who hear them, for a long time.

There is the usual line up of instruments; piano, violin, viola, cello with the addition of a flute performing trios, quartets, quintets, sextets and octets. There are still some details to be confirmed relating to the artists and the programme but all is mostly in place. We are on schedule to announce the artists and programme in April.  So do keep an eye on the Martinborough Music Festival website.
