Kia ora tatou, and another scorching month has gone by!

It was great to see that the free swimming in the local pools has proven very popular in all 3 towns once again, with the Martinborough pool shades looking great and providing much needed shade.

February saw our first full Council meeting for 2020, with water being a large part of the conversation. Drinking water and wastewater continue to be huge issues, not just for the South Wairarapa, but for every Council around New Zealand.

Did you know that 200 litre water tanks, along with an installation kit, are available for $105 from the Council Office? They enable roof-top water collection and storage for garden and emergency use. Get yours today as on the East Coast we always have long dry Summers. The grapes love it! Some gardens, not so much.

Finally a huge thank you to our awesome Martinborough residents, for all your efforts in conserving water when a total water ban was applied and while we can only use one bore.

I look forward to continuing to work for you over this triennium.

Nga mihi

Councillor Pip Maynard
