Everybody Welcome

April 10, 2018 April 2018 No Comments

In 1998 Hau Ariki Marae officially opened its Meeting House and other buildings for the well-being of the Maori community of Martinborough and the general public of New Zealand. The marae has hosted many functions that have included tangihanga (funerals), wananga (learning / educational forums) for primary, secondary and tertiary education institutions, local authority meetings, iwi and whanau meetings, community events (such as MADCAPS Martinborough), and celebrations ranging from Matariki (Maori New Year) to social functions

On Thursday 17th, Friday 18th Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th May

Hau Ariki Marae is hosting Television’s DIY Marae’s 100th Episode and would like to extend a warm invitation to all the people of Martinborough to come along and be a part of this exciting event, by helping in whatever way they can.

We are looking for builders, plumbers, electricians, painters and labourers and encourage all our local people and visitors to our town to take advantage of this opportunity to become involved in the major renovations of their Marae

We urge you all to take a little time out of your busy schedules and come along to what we are sure will be a very exciting and worthwhile occasion. Lunches and smokos will be provided throughout this time. The Billy will be constantly “on the boil”.

Everyone is most welcome
