June 18, 2015 June 2015 No Comments

On Wednesday August 5 the Featherston Knitters will be holding their Annual Blanket Display at St Andrews Union Church, Featherston from
10 am to 4 pm. Come along and view the handy work of our busy knitters and enjoy a cup of tea, coffee and cake. The Martinborough display will be in St Andrew’s Hall on Saturday August 1st.

Thank you South Wairarapa for supporting our Easter Raffle, we had an incredible response and were able to donate a total of $400 to UNICEF for their Vanuatu and Nepal appeals as well as purchasing wool for our ongoing projects, namely: Slippers for the children at St. Theresa’s school; Knitwear and Blankets for the Teen Parent Unit at Makoura College; Beanies for the Featherston Medical Centre; Babywear for Masterton Hospital and Blankets; Knitwear for distribution overseas through Mission Without Borders and latterly our fun project knitting poppies for the National Poppy Appeal for WW1 commemorations.

Are you a knitter? We would love to welcome you to one of our Knitting Groups which meet regularly every month.

We always welcome donations of wool for our projects, so, if you are able to help with this or wish to join us please phone: Martinborough Barbara Cox 3069 934. Featherston May Brown 308 6912 or Virginia Kunz 308 8392.
