FIRE BRIGADE NEWS

October 15, 2020 October 2020 No Comments

With Daylight Saving just started (hasn’t the year gone by?) Fire and Emergency remind everyone to check their smoke alarms are working correctly. If you have any problems or are unable to check them yourself then contact us and we can sent someone out in uniform to check them for you. Only uniformed members of FENZ should do this and we never want your bank account details..

Congratulations to our new Senior Firefighters Matt McQuaid and Brad Aldridge who just completed their course and we have a number of others completing training now everything is back to normality.

We recently had a training night involving a building fire with our adjoining Brigades from Carterton with their Tanker, Tora, Ngawi and Lake Ferry, which provided a fantastic learning and consolidation opportunity for both fire behaviour and firefighting for everyone, skills we train for but hope we don’t use often.

Please be careful with open fires and burn offs of trimmings, it is reasonably dry out there and the recent winds make conditions tricky. If you are unsure about a fire or need help – DIAL 111

REMEMBER TO CHECK THOSE SMOKE ALARMS, THE LIFE IT SAVES COULD BE YOURS.
