FIRE BRIGADE REPORT

November 10, 2021 November 2021, Regular Features No Comments

Congratulations to Sophie Shipperbottom, our latest Firefighter to complete the Recruits Course (actually she topped the Course), well done !!. Sophie is an artist and has a fundraising Fire Brigade limited edition print available with a portion of funds going to the Brigade, these would make an ideal Christmas present, see our Facebook Page for links to buy this gift.

The Brigade continues to train hard towards our ‘Go Live” with Medical First Response in the town and surrounding district – keep an eye out for the rollout announcement.

Restart a Heart Day was the 17 October and FENZ featured our Brigade in a local story showing how critical it is to know CPR for those vital minutes it take the Brigade to arrive, and we urge you to learn this vital lifesaving skill.

This month has been the usual calls, and as the days lengthen, temperatures rise we are rapidly approaching the time when restrictions on outside fires will start, you can easily check on www.checkitsalright.nz

Great to see new members joining the Brigade both as recruit Firefighters and Medical Responders, every one of them bring a unique set of skills with them into the brigade, if you are interested then you can either come down for a visit on Tuesday night @ 7pm or email our Chief –  Jacob.hawkins@fireandemergency.nz
