FIRE BRIGADE REPORT

November 6, 2020 November 2020, Regular Features No Comments

The year is quickly flying along and a pretty dry Spring has meant there is plenty of dry material about, and the brigade has already responded to a couple of vegetation fires. Remember hot, dry and windy summer conditions dramatically increase the chances of fire getting out of control. If you need advice or before lighting a fire, check the latest conditions and permit needs at www.checkitsalright.nz .

Congratulations to our latest member to successfully complete a course, Qualified Firefighter Annah Rait. Well done!

We welcome our latest recruit Sophie Ship, starting on her path to becoming a Firefighter. You are always welcome to visit on a Tuesday night and see if you want to join Carson, Gareth, Brett and Sophie.

The Brigade has responded to several calls lately, as traffic grows over the warming months into summer, please watch for bikes and motorcycles and wear a seat belt.

If you see any sign of smoke or fire, or require our help at an accident or in a medical emergency – DIAL 111 ask for FIRE.
