Hello from Martinborough Plunket

February 19, 2013 Uncategorized No Comments

We hope you have been enjoying what is arguably the best summer in the best part of the country… .the Wairarapa. A lot of families will be enjoying soaking up the sun and water at our local pool which is having record numbers use it.

There are a lot of things happening in our little village over the next few weeks, and Martinborough Plunket will be there too, so mark your calendars. As you will surely know, the Martinborough Fair is the first weekend in Feb. As usual, in the town hall we will have our Mothers Room set up in the supper room. Tell all your friends who are coming from out of town this day if they need a quite space to rest, feed and change baby’s nappy or just relax, they can pop around the back of the hall as we have a space set up for getting away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds. There will even be hot and cold drinks.

We will be having a Teddy bears Picnic Year at the Plunket Rooms on Venice street, to kick off the New so come along, and kids and babies, bring your teddy bear too. There will be cold (and hot drinks for Mums) and toddlers too.

Perhaps you would like to join our committee and be part of some of the projects we have geared up for this year?..when I moved to the area nearly six years ago I had no network of other new mums. Through joining the Plunket committee I have met some great people who have, like me, donated two or so hours a month to help with the behind the scenes stuff Plunket which gets behind with in our Martinborough community.

We meet up once a month for sumptuous cakes and coffee, occasionally compare stories of ‘is this the terrible two’s stage?’ Even share the shoulders when someone needs a breather, leave the kids to play while we scheme up ways to fund raise, catch up on any other news, and you even make some life long friendships along the way too. I have.
We’d love to have you on our committee. For any questions on joining feel free to give us a call on 3066176. Or visit us on Facebook, we regularly update our Plunket Wairarapa FB page with what we are doing.
Linda
