Hello from Martinborough  Plunket,

July 8, 2013 July 2013 No Comments

Every year when we have the garage sale. Fortunately for me there are a huge group of superheroes who step up and help  with the finer things and we have a lot of you kind folks to thank.

For starters, we couldn’t have our garage sale if it wasn’t for the generosity of Martinborough people who are keen to free up their house of clutter and treasures. which have now made their way back to new happy homes and owners keen to recycle the reusable. We are extremely grateful for South Wairarapa Storage who gave us a TARDIS like space for stashing all of the loads we picked up.

A special thank you to the superhero strong father and son team Hawkins for the monumental job of emptying the storage space and moving all of the donated goods to the Town Hall, and thank you Ronnie for helping unpack the many boxes as they came in on Friday. To the lovely team of ladies from the BNZ who helped to set up the hall space, unpack boxes, set up trestle tables, cheerfully provide EFTPOS facilities – a big thanks. Our raffle of a beautiful camellia donated by Di Martin was won by Bev Wihone and the chocolates donated by Viv Malneek was won by Clare Godley.

Out at the entrance to the hall we had our BBQ set up (courtesy of MITRE10 thanks Conor) with the bacon, egg and onion sammies with the beautiful bacon supplied by our local superhero butcher SCOTTYS MEATS (and bread from the team at BREADCRAFT Wairarapa. We thank you all for your generosity. Also Guy from REVIVE who kindly donated ALL the proceeds from his fine coffee stall to our garage sale.

Cleaning up after such a big event is quite a mammoth task. Tank you to Carol Hawkins, Conor Kershaw and Mark McGillicuddy for helping out, we couldn’t done it without you.
Until next month, wrap up warm!
Linda and the Team from Martinborough Plunket.
