INNER WHEEL CLUB OF SOUTH WAIRARAPA

August 24, 2021 August 2021 No Comments

On 19th June five members from South Wairarapa Inner Wheel went to Waikanae for the Inner Wheel

District A G M and Change Over .

All districts took a box of items for the Wellington City Mission these were given to Murray Eldridge who was the guest speaker from Wellington City Mission.

It was interesting to know the Wellington City Mission has been operating in the Wellington region for 114 years.

Through their four programmes, mission for families, mission for youth, mission for independence and mission for seniors – they provide holistic practical support to a broad  range of people.  The assistance they provide includes food parcels, hot meals, advocacy, education, financial mentoring, and social work

support. They also operate an older care residential facility  called Kemp home and hospital. You may have seen on the news recently they have just opened a supermarket.

Murray gave a great insight to the wonderful work his staff and volunteer workers at Wellington City Mission do.  He was very grateful for our donations we supplied.

New members welcome
