Inner Wheel Club of South Wairarapa

March 12, 2020 March 2020 No Comments

As happens every year, we start with a hiss and a roar. There is nothing like catering for the Rotarians at the Martinborough Fair for Inner Wheelers to be re-acquainted with the fact that fundraising for charities takes a lot of volunteers, work, dedication and energy. Thanks to all our members who helped one way or another on the day.

Sadly we farewelled one of our valued foundation members, Helen Morison, who passed away on 27 January 2020. She was at home and surrounded by her loving family. Her funeral was very well attended and Robyn Draper, Rosemary Newton and Ali Rankin, as Foundation, Past and Present Presidents during Helen’s time in Inner Wheel spoke very fondly of her. She will be sadly missed.

The Shared Pantry is working well and serving our community as intended. Please continue to donate food as you are able, or take what you need. Fresh Choice along with other community group and individual donors continue to supply regular products which is really appreciated. So well done Greytown.

We are all thinking about our Australian friends over the ditch who have suffered from the terrible fires. As well as making a monetary donation, Inner Wheel New Zealand is sending over hand-knitted blankets by June. So we are getting our knitting needles out.
