Martinborough Library are now up and running in our new warm and cosy spot behind the Village Café.    We are now back to our usual hours of 9.30 to 5 weekdays and 10 to 12 Saturdays.   There is ample parking behind the library including a disabled parking bay.

We are still settling in but loving the warmth and close proximity to coffee.  We have got the books in order now but are trying to catch up on the inevitable backlog of new books which accumulated while all the changes were taking place.

Of course, we do like to do things in a big way and managed to change our library software at the same time as moving the library.  We now have a lovely new Library Management System which runs the catalogue and the customer database. All the WLS libraries changed on 6 June from our old, outdated library management system to “Kotui”.
Kotui is a nationwide system used by 16 other library systems and will bring some great improvements to everyone.  We are still getting used to using it and working out the inevitable glitches that always occur with change – so apologies for some of the oddities which you may have noticed.

Change is always difficult but we hope that once we have learnt all the “ins and outs”  we will be able to show everyone all the great improvements it offers.  We also have a lovely new website to browse (http://ent.kotui.org.nz/client/wls).

By using your Borrower number and PIN  you can reserve and renew your items, download audio and ebooks and catch up with the latest additions to the catalogue.

Please come and see us in our new library – we have missed some familiar faces over the last weeks.  We would also like to thank you all for the patience you have shown us as we have fumbled through the first days with Kotui – we will get better!  Shirley?
