My two favourite things in life are libraries and bicycles.  They both move people forward without wasting anything.” – Peter Golkin.

Daylight Savings is here, so get on your bike and head to your library!

November is Dinovember at the Library – we have something dinosaur-y every day during November: all of our Little Bookworms sessions will be dinosaur-themed, we’ve got a scavenger hunt, adopt-a-dinosaur, and all of this will culminate in a T-Rex party at the end of the month.  To find out what we’re doing, either follow Martinborough Library on Facebook, or pop in and see us – it’s going to be roarsome!

New books include Rock College: an unofficial history of Mount Eden Prison, Beaudy (a how-to-rugby with Beauden Barrett), the Organic Book of Compost, White Moko, Hamnet, the hugely popular cookbook Hiakai, and Tough Country (great for Barry Crump fans).  We’ve had some beautiful new knitting books come in so if you’ve always thought about learning,  now’s the time.

Something to keep your eyes on in the upcoming months: we’ll be offering some great new digital content to expand your reading experience.  There’s something for everybody, from newspaper readers to storybook enthusiasts.

We’re keeping it short but sweet this month – we’re hard at work pulling some great things together for the community.  Remember: your library card gives you access to four libraries across the Wairarapa Library Service – Martinborough, Greytown, Carterton and Featherston.  All of the libraries have Facebook pages, so follow us to stay up-to-date with all things book-y. Stay safe, enjoy Spring, and stay well-read.

“Having fun isn’t hard, when you’ve got a library card.” – Marc Brown

The demolition of the Martinborough Golf Club is complete.
