Making sure your business isn’t your best kept secret!  – you can’t sell secrets!

For many small businesses they are doing “all” the jobs within it, bringing the idea to life, working on the front line, keeping the books, ordering stock, processing deliveries as well as advertising and marketing the business.

It’s more than a full time job!

But one important element that is so important is the marketing, there is no point having a business no one knows about!

The world has changed dramatically in the last few years with the internet, website and now social media being a big part of connecting and building relationships with people you don’t even see face to face.

Marketing is a very broad term that covers many parts of the big strategy. But it is a skill, and one many can find challenging, because it covers so many angles, customer relationship building, educating your customers about your services and products, promotions and also to your end goal of increasing sales.

It is a theme that comes up whenever we ask for feedback on what businesses owners find challenging.Interesting too that social media management or failure to do so is in the top reasons that small businesses fail or don’t grow.

During Covid when people needed to be online we saw people popping up but to not drop off the planet it takes consistency and effort.

For many it’s challenging enough to be updating the websites and doing the social posts, there is no time to delve into the analytics to find out what’s happening …..but in that data there is gold to be mined.

This data can enable Insights that may well have you aiming for your target  instead of stumbling around in the dark. It allows you to be more targeted to the people who are liking you and enabling  you to build on that relationship specifically, like you would the face to face customer visiting your store

With this in mind the MBA members will get the opportunity to gain some insights from a popular Wairarapa influencer in the June social event. It is just one of the benefits of being a member, the support element of what we try to provide when we know what the challenges are.

As well as this there is a Digital Boost workshop Business Wairarapa have organised open for all businesses in the region.
