Martinborough Red Cross Group: Call for volunteers!

March 12, 2020 March 2020 No Comments

It’s going to be another busy year for the Martinborough Red Cross Group–starting with the Annual Street Appeal to be held on 20th of March (Friday) followed by the laying of a wreath in the square on Anzac Day, the Cake Day in May and other events later in the year.

With all these upcoming activities, we are on the lookout for more volunteers to join us. If you’re keen, we’d love to hear from you!

If you can spare an hour of your time on 20 March 2020 to support our Annual Street Appeal, we’d really appreciate it. Sign up at www.redcross.org.nz.

The Red Cross is involved in several humanitarian activities here in New Zealand and abroad, and our fundraising efforts aim to support these. Some of the programmes that we support locally are the resettlement of former refugees, provision of winter warmer packs to families in need, and community transport service that help vulnerable individuals get to their medical appointments, among others. For more information about the Martinborough Red Cross Group and the work that we do, contact us through our local coordinators: Mike at 027 939 7373 and Margaret at 027 277 6393.  You can also reach us through e-mail at mrameh192@gmail.com.

The Martinborough Red Cross group will be meeting on the second Wednesday of April, June, August, October and December 2020, around 10:30 am at the Martinborough Fire Station.  You are welcome to join us to learn more how you can help.
