MARTINBOROUGH RUGBY CLUB

July 25, 2016 July 2016, Sports No Comments

Junior-rugby-Team-talk- The rugby season is ticking along, the weather has been playing the part which means big crowds at games soaking up the sun and some great rugby. Our Club Day was a highly successful day, with continuous rugby from 9.30am, the JAB running a sausage sizzle, and a lunch prepared by Joanne TeKani for the “Old-Timers”, it was certainly very busy.

The new hit shields have arrived for the JAB & Seniors, made in our green and black, these not only look great but will have plenty of use before the season ends. These were funded by Trust House.
Our new oven has arrived, this was partly funded by Eastern & Central Community Trust and we look forward to using it at our remaining home games. Our kitchen looks great, definitely a venue to consider if you are organising a function – contact Nicholle Hawkins 02108367237 if you are interesting in booking.
On Saturday the 18th we were fortunate to have the Rugby World Cup visit our Clubrooms, this was a rare opportunity to get up close and personal with this trophy, although only rugby greats who win the World Cup get to hold it it was still a great chance to be photographed with it.

Our JAB held a very successful fundraiser – the Daisybank Trail Ride, the weather was amazing and the turn out exceeded expectations. A huge thank you to Becs Madden and her team for organising this event, we look forward to its return next year!

BLK GEAR BAGS & BACK PACKS – these are high quality bags, both have compartments for muddy boots etc. The Back Pack would make a great school bag – compartments for laptop, cell phone etc etc and keeps muddy gear or wet togs separate!! $65 each or if you would like your initials embroidered below the emblem we are taking orders – $70. Orders and payments must be received by 30 June. $65 bags available from behind the bar or contact Rachael 0276932960 or benview@xtra.co.nz
