Marty Jobs Share Collaboration

November 6, 2020 November 2020 No Comments

The Martinborough Business association is continuing to support businesses to find staff for the busy summer season ahead. Publishing members’ job vacancies on social media and sharing out to Wairarapa groups on a weekly basis.

It has been great to hear success stories from employers and local people having found employment via this channel.

The Marty Job Share concept is evolving into  “Marty Job Share Collaboration” which has been looking at ways to ensure a labour pool to fill these jobs.

In one example, a business operator enabled their employee to take on the extra hours with another operator and simply billed the operator for the wages. This process avoided secondary tax being paid at source by the employee, met the needs of the operator requiring staff and the needs of the worker to get extra hours. A key thing here is the operator gets a “work ready” employee.

This is a new initiative and we continue to build the system to make this process easy and a win-win for all, encouraging local employers to collaborate to create a win win for all.

LOVE LOCAL

Opportunities to enjoy everything Martinborough has to offer continue to grow and this month will see new eateries open up , the retail and hospitality sector move to summer opening hours and plenty of events to keep us entertained including the return of the much loved community fireworks and TK Farmers Market.

We are sure the weekends will continue to buzz as the sun shines and the warmer months approach.
