Museum News 

We would like to thank everyone who supported the recent 125^th birthday of the Museum building.   The fundraising 1982 documentary was a box office smash.  We hoped to fill one theatre and ended up screening the film 6 times.  The proceeds will go towards developing an exhibition space to allow us to show more of our area’s  heritage.

There’s another anniversary coming up soon.  In October it will be the 150^th anniversary of the sale of the first sections at Wharekaka Waihinga, the original settlement pre-dating Martinborough.   If you have any information or memorabilia about this historic area we’d love to hear from you.

We’ve got lots of new initiatives for 2020.  If you have ideas or feedback about the museum do let us know so we can consider these in our planning.
