Netball off to great start

June 11, 2018 June2018 No Comments

Southern Netball is off to an awesome start in 2018 with 6 teams competing from grade 1 to Future ferns. Martinborough Community Board and Mitre 10 have provided fabulous support to the club providing uniform and equipment while …… has supported us in training at the Martinborough Tennis Club. The club also kicked off the preseason with carparking at the Martinborough Fair and a very successful sausage sizzle on opening day.

The competition round started with wins to the Steel, Sting and Stars with the Storm loosing by just 3 goals.

Two of our players Tatiyana Hawkins and Maralyse Whiteman have been named in the Wairarapa Intermediate and Development teams respectively. Our coaches have had the opportunity to train with Irene van Dyke and it hasn’t stopped their we have also been named finalist in the 2017 Wairarapa Times Age Club of the Year and look forward to the result later in June.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the clubs positive start to the season.
