February 17, 2020 February 2020 No Comments

On Friday 7 February at St Andrew’s Anglican Church in Masterton at 6.30pm Kat and Alan Maxwell will be installed as the new ministry leaders of St Andrew’s Church .

Alan has had a significant impact on the communities of Featherston and Martinborough through his work with youth. He is placed in Kuranui College, several days per week, as part of the 24-7 Youth Work initiative, is part of the Diocese AYM (Anglican Youth Movement) regional team, runs senior youth, develops youth leaders and is involved with church worship and more at St John’s in Featherston.

For a few years, Kat has been helping the Rev Philippa Young as part of the leadership team at St John’s in Featherston and has also been part of the junior youth ministry team.  She is passionate about kingdom-building with the whole body of Christ, especially through Intergenerational Ministry. Until recently Kat was Parish Administrator at St Matthew’s in Masterton.  She is currently employed in an administrative role half-time through the Diocese of Wellington.

The Maxwell children are Lani (11yrs), Jonah (8yrs) and Sereniti (7yrs). Lani enjoys quiet time, music, café treats and has a beautiful gift with young children and her siblings. Jonah loves dance, enjoys music, finding bugs, swimming and plays football. Sereniti loves playing outdoors, games with her siblings and keeping active.

Kat and Alan have both been discerned for ordination in the Anglican Church and will be ordained in November 2020.

Everyone is invited to attend Alan and Kat’s installation service which will be led by the Rev Pete Watson, the new Vicar of St Matthew’s in Masterton.
