Sending the bras to needy women – October 2024

October 7, 2024 October 2024 No Comments

Spring is finally here and the blooms are looking stunning.

Wairarapa Inner Wheel would like to say a huge “thank you” to Shalari from Greytown Boutique Lingerie for all of her bras that she donated. (Were they literally “all of her bras?” _ Ed.)

These bras are washed then sent to Milady in Masterton. From there, they get sent overseas to Tonga, Rarotonga and Samoa.

Some of the bras are also sent to Women’s Refuge, Teen Unit and Women’s Prison.

The woollen hand-crafted blankets which club members have made are looking fabulous and a huge thank you to those that have contributed.

So far, we have completed making approximately 15, and as a club we can keep doing this all year round. We will be donating these to Whaiora clinic in Masterton.

I would like to send an invitation to women of the public to join Inner Wheel members for an informal lunch at Aperitif in Greytown on Tuesday, 24 September, at 12 noon.

We meet every 4th Tuesday of the month and guests are more than welcome.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Aperitif for hosting us.
