Solar storm stranding
A recent report in Current Biology ha slinked the stranding of 200 whales
On the west coast of North America last year with solar storms.
The storms, indicated by the presence of sun spots, after effect the earth’s magnetic field, which whales use for their navigation. Researchers compared 31 years of grey whale strandings with sunspot data from the Royal Observatory of Belgium and found that strandings went up as sun spots increased.
