WHAREKAKA OAK TREE COMMUNITY CELEBRATION
Members first social event
On Friday 26 March, founder members of Wharekaka’s Oak Tree Community were delighted to enjoy their first annual cocktail function at the Waihinga Centre. The Wharekaka Auxiliary provided a lovely selection of drinks and nibbles, and beautiful flower arrangements added to the festive atmosphere. Joy Cooper, chair of Wharekaka Trust Board, thanked those present for their generosity and commitment, which is a great help in closing the gap between Wharekaka’s expenses and revenue from fees. David Kershaw, patron, spoke warmly of Martinborough’s strong track record in supporting a wide variety of community cause and developments, and of Wharekaka’s unique qualities and community connection.
More members welcome
Wharekaka welcomes all to membership of the Oak Tree Community. The Oak Tree Community is made up of people who have committed to giving regular donations to Wharekaka either monthly, or annually, from $10 per month. In return, members receive regular newsletters and an invitation to an annual social function, plus membership of the Wharekaka Trust. Donors may receive a tax rebate for these charitable donations. If you are interested please phone Wharekaka 06-306-9701, or Helen Meehan on 027 240 3660. We will be delighted to talk to you!
