Wellington Water: As part of their customer service Wellington Water have introduced a text alert system. You can register for this by sending a free text HELLO to 8090 to subscribe. It is possible to register three addresses to receive real time alerts about water incidents and outages happening in your area.
Assets & Services: At the Assets and Services meeting 27th October the proposed community funded Pump Track concept to be located in Considine Park was tabled. The report outlined the high-level pump track concept and how it aligns with Centennial and Considine Park Management Plan. It is proposed that the track can be used by bikes, skateboards and scooters and is aimed at young children through to adult age groups. The proposed area of the track is 70 m long by 26m wide covering an area of 0.182ha and potentially situated along the Princess Street side of Considine Park. Assets and Service supported the proposed concept. The next steps are, a) further development of the pump track concept, community funding, long term financial implications and consultation engagement plan. b) Report back to Assets and Services once additional work above in (a) has been completed, c) Report to Council seeking support of the initiative and d) Public consultation. Libraries: The new SMART library card will give access to Wairarapa Library Service as well as those in Masterton, Lower Hutt, Porirua, Kapiti Coast, Whitireia and Weltec to name a few across the region and you will be able to search, reserve, take out, return, review and request items from across these libraries. Below is a photo of the new SMART library card, the great thing is you get the larger one for your wallet and the smaller one attaches to your key ring, ensuring you have your card at all times. Pop into the library to get your new card, staff will update your details and issue the card – takes 2 minutes.
