MORNING TEA

OFFICIAL OPENING OF EXTENSION

10.30

From our establishment in 2015, and with generous support from the South Wairarapa District Council, the Martinborough Mens Shed has moved from a corrugated iron shack on council land to the council owned old Martinborough Courthouse in Cork Street, which we have now outgrown. As a result, and in line with our aims of providing room to cater for our growing membership, and offering a wider range of training courses to the Martinborough community, we undertook to extend the area available for our activities.

With the support of funding organisations in the Wairarapa, and the hard work of members over the past few years; delayed inevitably by Covid-19, we are now finally in a position to officially open the extension to our Shed. As we’ve enjoyed great support from the residents of Martinborough over the past few years we have decided to hold an Open Day to mark this occasion and  invite all residents to join us for a slap-up morning tea and to have an opportunity to inspect the work we’ve done; both in the old Courthouse and the new extension, including demonstrations of wood turning.

The Shed will be open from 10.00 to 12.00 on Saturday 20 August, with morning tea available from 10.00am

We are honoured that Daphne Geisler, wife of our founding chairman the late Richard Geisler, has accepted our invitation to officially open the new extension at 10.30am
