March 12, 2024 March 2024 No Comments

Are you a media junkie? Want to learn more about podcasting and broadcast media? Do you have a message to share?

If you represent a community support service, practise sustainable farming, are a member of the disability community or want to celebrate cultures and enthusiasms, you can share all this with Wairarapa and the world thanks to our podcasting and live broadcasting platforms on this local community access radio station. Join ArrowFM for an exciting workshop to empower you with the skills and knowledge you need to reach your audiences.

Arrow FM presents CREATING MEDIA, a dynamic workshop exploring the diverse technologies available to content creators in today’s media landscape. And because we’re all about the people and the message, CREATING MEDIA will help you with content creation and presentation.

We are delighted to welcome Phil Grey, manager of Free FM in Kirikiriroa (Hamilton) and an expert in podcasting, to deliver a session on Podcasting, Multi-platform Use and Programme Promotion. Phil has presented at national media events and manages the national Access digital platform centre – accessmedia.nz.

Phil will cover multiple aspects of podcast production, from content creation to techniques for engaging your audience. You’ll also explore how you can use social media to promote your content.

Our very own programme makers, Chris Parkinson of Waibrations and Becky Bateman of Ara Toi, Pathways to Art will follow with their insights – Chris on Short-Form Programming, where he edits show material into bite-sized chunks suitable for the internet audience, and Becky on Programme Planning, Creating Content, and Incorporating Visuals into Presentations.

Whether you’re one of Arrow FM’s current programme-makers, new to the airwaves, or already producing content from home, there’s something at CREATING MEDIA for everyone.

Arrow FM is your local community access radio station. Our shows are created by, for, and about everyone in the community who wants to share their cultures, issues, and beliefs with their own people and the broader community.

Email us at quiver@arrowfm.co.nz to secure your place, or just turn up to Wairarapa REAP at 340 Queen St, Masterton, 1 – 4 p.m. on Saturday, 16 March. This is a free workshop.
