February Fire Brigade Report

It has been a busy start to the year with over 60 calls already – an average of 20 a month – ranging from several large vegetation fires and animal rescues to medical calls involving working alongside the Lifeflight Helicopter to winch patients from remote locations.  

There certainly has been a variety.

With the loss of three of our valuable team members who have moved from our district, we are

actively looking for both some new Firefighters and some Medical Responders, especially during daytime hours when we lose people to the “Big Smoke” for work.

The Fire Brigade offers the opportunity to develop a range of valuable skills as well as physical

fitness and the opportunity to work with a great bunch of people who are often the first point of call in an emergency. 

Not only that, we will fully equip you and train you!

Grab one of firefighters for a chat or pop in on a Tuesday training night.

The Fire danger remains high and the hot dry days aren’t helping, so please be very cautious when using mowers, or other machinery that may cause a spark:  that is all it takes. If you are at all concerned dial 111 immediately!
