Martinborough Bowling Club

The Martinborough Bowling Club held their annual meeting on Sunday July 19th . Although poorly attended due to the icy , inclement weather , a quorum was reached and President Pedro McGillicuddy opened the meeting at 2 . 45 pm .
Due to her business commitments Janalle Frew stepped down as secretary . The attending members thanked her for her diligent service which was reiterated by President McGillicuddy .

Office holders for the ensuing year were elected as follows :

Secretary Robert Murray .
Treasurer Hayden Frew .
Greenkeepers Pedro McGillicuddy , Neville Smith and Robert Murray .

The members made special mention of thanks to Blue Hunt for his tireless fundraising efforts by conducting a weekly meat raffle at the Pukemanu Tavern . Falling membership was discussed at length by the members and it was agreed that the incoming committee look to bolstering numbers over the next twelve months. Membership drives and other activities will be highlighted in this report in future issues .

Readers are reminded that the club is staging a fun trivia afternoon on Sunday August 23 . Cash prizes will be on offer and afternoon tea will be provided , teams of four or more are welcome to participate in what should be a great fun afternoon . A full bar service will be available with entertainment from a “mystery ” artist . Anyone interested in more information can contact Janalle at the brewery , Neville Smith at  the BP servo or ring  022 0763880. Entry fee is $ 10 per person.
Don’t forget if you are in the area , drop in Friday afternoons from 5 pm for a drink and a get to know yarn .
